Charolais was the first of the European Continental beef breeds to be imported into the United Kingdom, with the first Charolais bulls being imported into artificial insemination centres in 1961.
Charolais were a natural choice to completment the existing Greenyards Hereford herd. In 2007 Greenyards cattle started building the Charolais herd when taking up residence at Amberley Court after moving from Greenyards Farm, Dunblane. The first Charolais heifers were followed by the addition of Clifton Park Usage in April 2012. Usage has since sired Greenyards bulls and heifers and we are now have John Donald as stock bull.
